Chicken, onions, corn on the cob… Delicious as these barbecue staples are, grilling the same goodies over and over can get a little boring. And what better way to spice up your Forth of July and summer grill with some fresh and unexpected new ingredients?

Pizza

Grilling up a pizza pie is much easier than you’d think! Just mix some dough, toss it on the grill, and cover in tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite toppings for a hearty, delicious twist on the Italian classic.

Oysters

Tossing some oysters on the grill is a simple and scrumptious way to up the ante on your BBQ appetizers. Add some lemon juice, bread crumbs, cheese and oregano.

Avocados

Whether you’re in it to make a smokey guacamole or add something special to a salad or burger, grilling up some buttery-soft avocados can add an unexpected edge to countless dishes.

Watermelon

Watermelon might seem delicate, but believe it or not the fruit actually holds up excellently on the grill. Just slice the watermelon in flat, round pieces, drizzle a little olive, and toss on the grill. The sugars in the watermelon will caramelize, adding an intensely sweet, semi-smokey flavor.
